45 Ruger 1911 - Those who collect multiple weapons seem to have different personalities. The Glock guy could be of use. He has a concealed carry Glock, a revolver, and possibly a spare. SIG fans appreciate fit and finish, but half a dozen pistols meet their needs. Both will appreciate the Ruger SR1911.
The 1911 man will own as many guns as he can afford. I bought a 1911 a long time ago that I wanted. A shooter who finds a box of 1911s may own an inexpensive 1911, some middle-of-the-road guns, and a high-end gun or two. He thinks he needs everything.

I love the 1911 and want more from every gun. I know what a well tuned gun can do. The Ruger SR1911 is one of the best 1911 pistols out of the box and all the guns most shooters need. The gun was not introduced for long, but it gained a solid reputation as a workman in 1911.

Ruger is known for good value for money. P89 pistols are reliable and accurate, but very intimidating. When Ruger introduced the SR1911, it was a sleek, ergonomic, and effective pistol based on proven principles.
Everything Ruger did was to pursue manufacturing excellence. If anyone thought Ruger couldn't make a good rifle, the SR1911 puts the lie to that claim.
Ruger bills the SR1911 as a non-motorized 1911 revolver. The grip safety, slide lock, thumb safety, and grip safety are excellent compared to the black. The rifle has the signature lugs and Ruger logo.
While there are many variations, the gun featured is the popular five-inch barreled Government Model .45 ACP steel. There are also excellent commander and officer pistols.

The appearance of the SR1911 is impeccable. The operation of the machine is not perfect. The metal slide and frame fit perfectly. As the slide slides, the locking bolt slides smoothly out of the lock, and the gun locks firmly again when the slide stops.
The pistol has a slightly extended thumb safety and a modern cocking safety. The trigger is tight and smooth at 5.1 pounds. The beavertail safety moves the hand into the grip as it grips the handle. The problem with a free-floating needle is something where the gun is dropped on the muzzle from a high altitude. The trigger pin can go forward, reach the trigger box and fire the gun. Colt introduced the 80 barrel shot block to counter this problem.
The firing pin holds the firing pin until the trigger is fully rearward. Some consider the gun lock to be an unnecessary complication. Ruger solved this problem in a clean way.
Ruger uses a titanium ring pin. This easy-to-clean pin barely moves forward when the gun is dropped. In addition, the anti-pin spring is an extra-resistant design.

Shooting the MTM Case-Gard K-Zone rifle at 25 yards, I shot three groups of 230-grain FMJ bullets. The Ruger can be counted on for 2.5-inch groups at 25 yards. With good weapons, some parts will be small.
The most accurate model tested was the Fiocchi 200-grain XTP with a 2.0-inch section. The Ruger SR1911 is well made with quality materials and is reliable and accurate for all but the toughest competition.
